“I love painting in watercolour or oils the peculiar light I find in the Eastern Free State where the grass turns gold at a certain time of day even if it’s not officially autumn…. and my favourite is watching the changing faces of Mount Horeb no matter what month or time of day….. it has its own unique conversation with its admirers and I’m never tired of it…. after all these years being here. I chose to paint what I see and try to capture the elusive qualities of the ever changing light which never fails to impress me. Autumn and winter are my favourite seasons because of the abundance of gold I see everywhere…… I hope to communicate this fascination I have in……paint”
